Vacuum evaporation is the ideal way to efficiently treat a wide range of waste waters from many industrial processes.

Evaporation effectively resolves the disposal problem of industrial polluted water by providing total separation of metals and surfactants, giving high yield and quality distillate, with a significant reduction of COD. Vacuum evaporation is particularly suitable when high quality distillate is required.

It’s simple, we exploit the technologies of heat pump and vacuum distillation to provide a maximum yield with low energy consumption.

Under vacuum the boiling point of water can be reduced to 35 – 40° C.  Using heat pump technology the same circuit is used for heating and cooling and therefore the amount of energy required to reach this temperature is reduced considerably.

The range consists of four standard types of equipment. The HPS series is for non-encrusting liquids such as oil emulsions, the HPR series features an internal boiler scraper for treating wastewater with encrusting products such as ink, paints and adhesives, the forced circulation HP-Cf units are for high volumes and the Cf-multi-effect units (2 or 3 boilers) reduce energy costs even further.

How does a heat pump evaporator work?

It works like a normal air conditioning unit using a refrigerant compressor, with two heat sources (hot and cold) to evaporate and condense water. Ozone friendly gas is used in the circuit.

What about Energy?

Energy consumption is reduced (about 5 times lower compared to atmospheric evaporation) as most of the energy (latent heat) is reused for new vapour production.

How does a multiple effect evaporator work?

This can consist of 2 or 3 effects (boilers). It exploits vapour produced within the first boiling chamber to produce new vapour in a second chamber and then again in third chamber with a lower temperature and pressure. This multiple effect sequence can be used with a heat pump or external heat source like hot water or steam that is already available on site. This multiple effect system uses even less energy than a single effect unit.
